Being a runner now has changed and energized my life. Running gives me the opportunity to meditate on where I've gone, where I am currently, and where I would like to be in the future.
This is the time of year when I take stock of all that has happened during the year. It's been a crazy ride for me in 2010. Many highs and lows personally, artistically, and professionally. A high for me this year was participating in my first Halloween art show at "Spirits in Sanford" Florida. A low has been the lackluster sales of my artwork online, which I've partially attributed to the downturn economy.
2011 will be a year of reorganizing, restructuring, and reevaluating my business model. I will be selling more of my art exclusively through my Etsy shop, rather than on eBay auction. I've been experimenting with some new techniques in my art the past two years. I'm looking to branch out and try some different types of mediums to grow as an artist in the new year. I'm hoping trying some new things will fan my creative flame and help my sales in the future.
I have a feeling it will be awhile before the economy bounces back to where it was two years ago. I'm still hopeful that everything will work out in the long run. Onwards & upwards!
I'm running towards 2011 with a positive attitude and I will make it happen!
Blessings to all for a prosperous & happy 2011.

Happy New year Chris...
A wonderful post. I am so tickled that you are up and running still. Don't let the economy get you down. You are a very talented artist and your work is fabulous. Your art will find its way.
I can't wait to see what you share in your Etsy shop. I personally don't like shopping through E-Bay. I have been burned to many times. I love shopping in individual Etsy shops though as we come to meet the people on a more friendly basis.
Happy New Year My Friend. Many 2011 bring you many wonderful new beginnings. Your bloghome looks wonderful.
Country hugs, Sherry
I hear ya Chris, lots of lows and high this year for me too.
A lack of sales can really bring us artists down. Not only from a monetary stand point, but we begin to question our own ability to make sellable art. You are one of the most talented illustrators I know. I hope you never doubt your ability and amazing gift. Keep doing what you are doing - you have a true gift.
Wishing you many blessings in 2011.
@Karey ~ Thanks so much and it's been hard for most artists selling this year. Will do & wishing you the same!
@Pattee ~ You are such a sweetie and wishing you the same! Will do on the running! You betcha.
@Sherry ~ Thanks for stopping by and the kind words about my art & blog. Wishing you the same!
@David ~ You always know the right thing to say to cheer a guy up. Well it's been hard to stay upbeat regarding my art, but I still keep trying. I'm stubborn as a mule! Wishing you many blessings in 2011 as well!
You all just made my day and thank you from the bottom of my lil' ol' Halloween heart!
Best Always,
Chris >:-)
